A few months back I bought a sixis 103R from mr. Veltman. Peter is very professional and knowledgeable. He knows very well the machines he is selling and he was happy to provide technical information and measurements to help me choose a machine that fits me best.

He has also been very helpful with many questions I have had after I bought the machine. Highly recommended sellers. At some point I will also buy my lathe from him

Please think twice before buying a machine from Veltman Machines!
We recently bought a Schaublin 135 Lathe from them, and we were enormously disappointed in the machine we received, but also in the service we received afterward.
Before we purchased the machine, we confirmed, several times, via email that it was cleaned, serviced, and in good WORKING condition. This was however not the case. The machine that arrived had clearly not been properly serviced or cleaned. When turned on the Machine trips and the coolant tank was filled with very old grease, full of holes, and completely unusable! The coolant pipes were broken.
We emailed them to get to the bottom of the situation, and they agreed to refund us for the costs we incurred in fixing the machine but when we sent them a summary of the costs, with the receipts, they refused.
As there was nothing we could do with a broken machine, and it was still within their three-month warranty period, we asked to be refunded and that they return the machine. They agreed, but we were told that they did not know when they would be able to refund us as they were having cash flow issues, they wanted to have the machine back immediately and expected us to pay for the shipping. I do not feel that this is a fair outcome, they expect us to pay for the shipping of a falsely advertised, broken machine, thereby costing me a bunch of money with nothing to show for it. In addition to this, sending the machine back before the refund would leave us with no recourse if they were to default in payment. This particularly makes me anxious, as their promises have already proven to be false.
We tried to discuss the matter amicably and reasonably. I was honestly appalled at how the situation was handled by Peter. He is completely unwilling to discuss the matter, to come to a conclusion that suits us both. I have tried calling him but found him to be rude and unhelpful, in our most recent phone call he just said ‘shit happens’ and then hung up mid-conversation. I am at a loss and do not know how to proceed.
