The cabin is pleasantly rustic, and the private hot spring was clean, therapeutic, and serene. The temperature of 110°F was a little warm for us, so we added cold water via the nearby hose supplied for that purpose. We found the kitchen suitably stocked with dishes, cookware, and a coffee pot. The pillows were so comfortable we plan to buy some for home! We loved the short drive up to see the ghost town, chipmunks, and glorious fall colors of St. Elmo. We will be back.

Our family has spent years vacationing at Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort - but recent changes (price, overcrowding, poor pool location choice) left us feeling like it was no longer worth it for us.

That is when I found Antero Hot Springs (we stayed in the Chalk Creek Chalet)! Just down the street, it provided an upgrade to the resort cabins.

First, the cabin was significantly larger (five queen beds in two bedrooms & walkout basement vs three queens in one bedroom & a loft).

Second, the living spaces where much nicer - there were three distinct places to read, games, talk, etc - and that doesn't even include the kitchen counter/bar.

Third, there were 2.5 bathrooms! The regular cabin at the resort has one. That is a luxury family and friends could not overstate.

Finally, having a private soaking pool was a godsend. The soaking pools at the resort have become so overcrowded that it is often hard to find a spot. That stinks when it is your primary reason for being there.

I cannot wait to see the renovated version. Writing this review was the second thing I did, right after I booked our next stay!

My husband and I have been coming to these cabins for 12 years. We've gone with another couple for the last 6 years so we can afford to go every spring and fall now. If you expect 5 star luxury, this is not the place for you. If you want a real, rustic, Colorado experience, this is your place. The cabins are legit and each one is over 100 years old. They are full of rustic charm and have always been spotless when we've arrived for our stays. The cabins have always had everything we have needed for our stays and we love to see the upgrades that seem to happen every year. All you need for your stay is good food, good drink, good company, and a cozy bathrobe. I really have resisted leaving a review since it's so hard to get a reservation here but I had to give an honest review on this lovely Colorado experience.

Cabins are remote with privacy. Very old, beautiful rustic cabins that come with their own private hot springs. The hot springs was amazing. It was large with plenty of place to sit. The temperature with the cover on gets up to 115 and you can use the cold water from a hose to cool it off, which only takes a couple of minutes. If you leave the top off the hot springs, the water is about 105-108, which needs just a little cooling down. I hate lukewarm water, so I loved this. And there are NO bugs in the water, it has a natural filtration system where the top layer of water runs off down the side of the hill into the creek, so it was perfect. The kitchen came fully stocked and there was lots of table space to play games. The furniture was super comfy leather furniture. The cabin is decorated with lots of antique photos. The beds came with plenty of very soft covers including electric blankets. The cabin is heated by gas stoves throughout and they have a wood burning fireplace insert as well and they provide the firewood for that. The views of the Chalk Cliffs and a fourteener (forgot the name) were spectacular out both the front and back of the cabin. This would be a fun thing to do with 3 couples since there were 3 bedrooms with queen beds. The mattresses were very comfortable and did not have the indentations from being old and worn out. You could hear the rush of the creek and it lulled us to sleep at night with the windows open. The star at night were spectacular on clear nights, and you have enough privacy to go into the hot tubs naked at night!!! There is a hike down the road to a waterfall, but it was a little long for me, so we didn't make it all the way. If you drive down the road west about half a mile there are more rushing creeks with bigger boulders that is also very pretty. Overall, thoroughly enjoyed my stay. We may be moving to Texas this summer, so this was my goodbye to the Rocky Mountains, and I couldn't think of a more memorable last mountain experience than this!!!

Private, clean, and secluded. Highly recommend. Loved the large pool that was partially covered, and flipping on the gas heating stove to warm up in the morning. Beds and bedding were comfortable. It was nice to use the down comforter. Stayed in Cottonwood Cabin. Never saw the other cabin visitors. Perfect!

Five of us stayed at one of the Antero Hot Springs cabins in Feb. 2022 after a week of skiing at Beaver Creek, Vail, and Breck. We had a wonderful visit. The scenery is beautiful. The house was large and well appointed. The hot tub was very hot, so we left it uncovered for a couple of hours and it cooled down to a more tolerable temperature. Such a beautiful setting! I highly recommend this facility for a weekend get-away or longer. It pairs very well with a ski trip!

This place is beautiful. The cabins are situated right next to the creek so the ambience is perfect. Cottonwood and Hortense are very close to eachother so keep that in mind when booking. The larger cabin is a little further down the way. Be sure to run the cold water from the well for about 10 minutes before getting in the hot spring. It's extremely hot ?. That being said, my wife and I really enjoyed our stay and plan to make it an annual trip. Book it! You won't be disappointed ?

First off I hardly do reviews. But people should know your are not getting what you pay for. This place is super over priced. The chalk cliff cabin has no ac which I get is the mt. Then you better have screen doors on all the doors for air flow. It was 80 degrees during the day. The security lights outside didn't work so we were not able to use the hot spring late at night. The few fans that were at the cabin were old and noisy. For the amount of money charged this cabin should be in beautiful condition. Make sure you check the dishes as another guest had put back dirty dishes. Be careful if your are allergic to ants they are all over the hot spring pool patio. I was bitten several times while sitting in and out of hot spring pool. The deck had a ton of wood rot so watch your step||It was so so hot and over priced we ended up leaving a day early and eating the money for the last day cuz we were both over it. Not even an apology for the issues. I tried several times before we left to contact Jessica about the issues the morning we left her reply at the end of the day was "for it".||Pretty sure the smoke alarms don't work. There are 2 that are missing and the 2 in the bedrooms upstairs don't look too be working.||The only positive was the hot spring, but it's really not private to the neighbors they see ya all day long.||I just believe for the amount of $375.00 a night things should be in working order.
